Fabric first, then the method
Upholstery fabrics vary more than carpet. Cotton, polyester, microfibre and blends all behave differently with water and heat. Care labels and a small hidden test spot guide the right approach for your couch.
Some fabrics are dry-clean only or can shrink, bleed or watermark. If that is the case with yours, you will be told before any cleaning starts.
- Fabric and care label check
- Test spot in a hidden area
- Pre-treatment on arms, headrests and marked cushions
- Low-moisture extraction suited to the fabric
- Cushions and seams finished and left to dry
Common couch problems we clean
Most couches need a clean for the same few reasons.
- Dark arms and headrests from everyday use
- Food and drink spills on cushions
- Kids’ marks, from juice to texta
- Pet hair, drool and smells
- A general stale smell that sits in the fabric
Leather and specialty fabrics
Leather, suede, silk and velvet need different products and more care. Mention the material in your quote request, with a photo of the care label if you can, and you will get a clear answer on whether it can be cleaned on site.
