Why pet odours come back
Urine dries into salts that sit deep in the carpet and underlay. When the air gets humid, those salts can release smell again. That is why a spot can look clean and still smell on a muggy day.
Treating pet accidents means finding the affected areas, applying a treatment made for urine and giving it time to work before extraction.
How the treatment works
- Find the affected spots, including ones you cannot see
- Apply a treatment made for urine and organic odours
- Allow dwell time so the treatment reaches the problem
- Extract and rinse as part of the carpet clean
- Advice on handling new accidents quickly
Setting honest expectations
Many pet stains and smells improve a lot. Some do not fully disappear. Old urine can permanently discolour carpet fibres, and heavily soaked underlay may need replacing to remove the smell completely.
If that looks likely, you will be told before the work starts so you can decide what is worth doing.
What to do with a fresh accident
- Blot, do not rub. Press paper towel down firmly to soak up as much as possible
- Avoid hot water and steam on fresh urine before it is treated
- Skip strong-smelling household sprays that can mask where the problem is
- Book a treatment sooner rather than later
